MIH is defined via the presence of demarcated opacities of varying color, porous enamel, advanced susceptibility or progression of dental caries, and sensitivity to thermal or mechanical stimuli. This study aims to determine the correlation of molar incisor hypomineralization (MIH) to specific past medical history. Calibrated dental residents will screen six- to ten-year-old upon periodic and comprehensive exams. Age and gender will also be documented. Guardians of the children that are positively diagnosed with MIH will be provided a voluntary questionnaire regarding their medical history as well as their child’s medical history, during pregnancy, at birth, and the first four years of their child’s life. This data will support statistical analysis in determining if hypothesized medical history factors correlate with the presence of MIH.
