Perception and Treatment Modalities of Molar Incisor Hypomineralization. Chung Y, Sayegh M, Lee A (Montefiore Health System/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY)
Purpose: The goals of this study are: (1) to assess the level of perception and knowledge of Molar Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH) among U.S. pediatric dentists, (2) to investigate clinical experiences of diagnostic and treatment complications, and (3) to identify the current management and treatment modalities on different level of severity of MIH affected permanent molars.
Methods: Active American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry members will be surveyed via email. The survey consists of 19 questions regarding prevalence, perception and clinical management of MIH. No identifying information will be collected from participants and all survey responses will remain anonymous.
Results: Upon data collection, statistical analysis will be used to identify factors related to treatment complications and current treatment modalities.
Conclusion: The results of the study should reveal consistencies and/or discrepancies between clinicians on perception and management of MIH.
