Research supported by BRANY IRB, 21-12-261-124(HHC)
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to compare and see if there exists a difference among treatment planning among pediatric dentists between a Pre-pandemic time period and the current Pandemic time period.
Methods: There will be a survey sent out via hyperlink in an email to pediatric dentists who have email addresses available in the AAPD directory. The online survey software from surveymonkey.com will be used. It will include five cases with intraoral radiographs corresponding to each case, behavior scale will be established for all patients. Each case will have 7 of the most common treatment options among pediatric dentists; The case will have the same choice options with the same associated radiograph the only difference would be to consider the current time period and consider what would have been done if the same patient presented in a time before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Results: This survey anticipates to collect at least 100 surveys over the course of the study period. Surveys are in the process of being collected and results are pending. Statistical analysis will be completed once the study period has concluded.
Conclusion: The current hypothesis is that there is no difference in treatment planning among pediatric dentists when comparing the current COVID time period and the pre-pandemic time period. The conclusion is to be determined after collecting sufficient data from this survey.
