Children frequently encounter traumatic dental injuries. These injuries can be detrimental especially if the child has a complex medical history. This can get further complicated when there is lack of access to urgent dental care and complex social history. This case report details management of trauma in a 10-year-old female who presented in the Emergency department. Her medical history was significant for portal hypertension, splenomegaly, thrombocytopenia and asthma. Urgent dental treatment including, exam, radiographs, repositioning and splinting of luxated teeth were completed in coordination with medical team. Tooth #9 progressed to pulp necrosis and tooth discoloration in follow-up visits. We have coordinated endodontic treatment for the patient. This case report discusses treatment planning, coordination with specialist and successful rehabilitation of the teeth following evidence-based approach for children with complex medical conditions.
