After being adopted from Busan, South Korea and raised in Amelia County, Virginia, I was always interested in the health sciences when my dad became a Paramedic with Richmond Ambulance Authority. I started my education at the University of Southern Indiana majoring in Biology/Comparative Chordate Anatomy. After completing my undergraduated degree, I went on to teach with the 2012 Corps of Teach For America in Oakland, CA where I taught 8th grade Math and Science. After seeing the healthcare gap in dentistry amongst my students and their families, I decided to pursue a career in dentistry with the class of 2020 from New York University. From my experience in education, I knew I wanted to work with youth, and decided to complete an advanced certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. I am currently a PGY-2 at NYU Langone's program in San Diego, CA. I will start my career in Tulsa, OK with Lumio Dental.
