Dr. Susarla is an Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Washington School of Dentistry and an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine, His primary clinical practice is in craniomaxillofacial surgery at Seattle Children's Hospital, where he also serves as the Division Chief of Pediatric Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Susarla completed his undergraduate education at Princeton University. He completed his dental degree at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, a master of public health degree at the Harvard School of Public Health, and his medical degree at Harvard Medical School. He completed surgical residencies in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Plastic Surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. These were followed by fellowship training in Craniomaxillofacial Surgery at Seattle Children's Hospital/University of Washington Harborview Medical Center.
Dr. Susarla's clinical practice focuses on pediatric and adult craniomaxillofacial reconstructive surgery. He has an active research portfolio, with over 200 peer-reviewed publications and several dozen book chapters. He currently serves on the editorial boards for numerous journals, including the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
