Dr. Karl Cuddy is an assistant professor at university of Toronto in the residency training program in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He completed dental and medical school as well as his masters of science (MSc) in pathology at the Schulich school of medicine and dentistry at Western university. Residency training was completed at the affiliated teaching hospitals in London, Ontario. Following this he completed a fellowship in advanced craniomaxillofacial surgery and trauma with the head and neck institute in Portland, Oregon. He is on staff at a number of the academic teaching hospitals which are part of the Toronto Academic Health Science Network. At Mount Sinai hospital he leads the craniomaxillofacial trauma clinic. At Princess Margaret hospital he co-directs the regional program for implant based reconstruction after head and neck tumour and reconstructive surgery. His clinical interests include craniomaxillofacial reconstruction including for patients suffering trauma, diseases of the maxillofacial complex as well as for those with congenital malformations. He has worked to establish a 3D printing lab at the university of Toronto within the confines of the residency training program, is interested in curriculum development as well as virtual surgical planning and patient specific implants for reconstructive surgery.
