Dr. Mark A. Green is graduate of Boston College and Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He went on to complete his oral and maxillofacial training at the Massachusetts General Hospital where he also achieved his medical degree from Harvard Medical. He spent some time in private practice before returning to Academia at Boston Children's Hospital as full time faculty in the Plastic and Oral Surgery Department. Dr. Green has contributed to multiple book chapters and has several published articles in peer reviewed journals.
Dr. Green’s clinical interests include orthognathic surgery, pediatric pathology, cleft lip and palate, bone grafting, and dental implants. He works closely with the Cleft and craniofacial teams at Boston Children's Hospital to treatment plan dental implant reconstruction on these patients as well as with the Dana Farber Cancer institute for reconstruction of patients with pediatric head and neck pathology. He serves as a clinical instructor for Harvard Medical School and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He is the OMFS residency site director at Boston Children's Hospital for the Massachusetts General Hospital Oral and Maxillofacial surgery program and is director of the Boston Children's Hospital Craniofacial Conference curriculum. He has many ongoing research interests including outcomes studies involving patients with cleft lip and palate and pediatric pathology.
