Denae Cheyenne Rushing was born in just outside of San Antonio in small town Hondo, TX. There she was typically found outdoors golfing, fishing, hiking or horseback riding. She began her undergraduate studies at The University of Texas at San Antonio and later transferred to Barry University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a minor in Physics. Dr. Rushing attended and graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine with honors. There she was always busy participating in clubs, helping with fundraisers and conducting research in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She has received many awards including the Horace-Wells Award from the American Dental Society in Anesthesia and is an inducted member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Omicron Kappa Upsilon. In 2022, she is expected to receive her M.D. from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and hopes to practice in the region surrounding San Antonio upon graduation from her OMS program in 2025. In her free time, Dr. Rushing loves spending time outdoors, now teaching her son Landon all of the activities she enjoyed with her family as a child.
