This is highly interactive course will allow the participants to gain a deep understanding of the most common surgical techniques used in the repair of cleft lip and palate deformities. Step-by-step instructions will be presented using multimedia techniques, including animation, 3D models and illustrative cases. The participants also will be able to practice the cleft lip repair techniques using a high-fidelity simulation model.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
Explain the fundamental pathophysiology and incidence of cleft lip and palate deformities in the general population.
Describe the various surgical techniques most commonly used to repair cleft lip deformities.
Discuss the various surgical techniques most commonly used to repair cleft palate deformities.
Demonstrate the surgical techniques most commonly used to repair cleft lip deformities on a high-fidelity medical simulation model.
