Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are at the forefront in the management of odontogenic cysts and benign tumors. Although they are benign and slowly growing, they can attain a considerable size, making the treatment difficult. This presentation will discuss the pathogenesis of the different odontogenic cysts and tumors and explain the updated World Health Organization (WHO) classification system. The medical and surgical treatments and the recent advances in diagnosis and surgical planning will be discussed as well as the management of pediatric patients with odontogenic cysts and tumors.
