Department of Radiation Oncology, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
New York, New York, United States
I am is an Attending Physician in the Department of Radiation Oncology who specializes in the treatment of thoracic tumors and metastatic disease. As such, I have led and published multiple original research studies and reviews on the treatment, survival outcomes, and toxicity of radiation therapy in thoracic malignancies. I currently lead the thoracic radiation oncology service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and also serves as Chief of Operations at the Manhattan Campus of the department. In this and in my prior role, as Clinical Medical Director of the Department of Radiation Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, I led and participated in multiple projects focusing on operations and delivering optimal cancer care. For example, I have developed studies focusing on barriers to clinical trial accrual and the insurance approval process for advanced techniques in radiation. During the COVID crisis, I co-led the department’s response, including our effort to institute telemedicine throughout the radiation oncology department. This grant builds on our prior departmental efforts to institute a robust telemedicine system throughout our department and institution, as well as my research efforts in factors determining successful implementation of novel clinical and research initiatives.
