Dr. Fields received her M.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2008 and completed her residency in radiation oncology at the University of Colorado in Denver, CO in 2013. She became the Medical Student Clerkship Director in 2015 and the Residency Program Director in 2017. Dedicated to teaching future generations in medicine, Dr. Fields completed a Certificate in Teaching in Medical Education and is actively involved in the education of medical students, residents and fellows in medical oncology, OB/GYN and radiation oncology. Elected ADROP Vice President in 2019 and now President, she is a leader in the Radiation Oncology Education Collaborative Study Group (ROECSG), she is focused on educating the next generation of Radiation Oncologists. Dr. Fields co-created the Introductory Radiation Oncology Curriculum (IROC) for incoming PGY-2 radiation oncology residents. She has also developed a proficiency based cervical cancer brachytherapy simulation course and an image verification workshop. She is the local PI for NRG GI and GYN clinical trials and is the PI for several investigator initiated studies, including a quality of life study for women after treatment for endometrial cancer. She is the Vice Chair of the Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee at Virginia Commonwealth University, is on the Cervix Committee at NRG and is actively involved with ABS and ASTRO. Dr. Fields’ clinical and research interests include gastrointestinal malignancies and gynecologic malignancies. Her clinical expertise includes IMRT, Stereotactic Radiosurgery, Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy, HDR brachytherapy.
