A 65-year-old woman was referred to an insured OMS for extraction of a painful and non-restorable #20. Nine months later, the patient reported lower jaw pain to her oncologist and ultimately received a diagnosis of medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ). The patient filed a lawsuit alleging that she was not informed about an increased risk of MRONJ with the extraction.
