Presentation Description: This course, when delivered in its entirety, is a specialized 16-hour course, which incorporates several adult learning styles and provides advanced instruction and practicum to the 9-1-1 First Responders for effective and proper courtroom testimony.
This session is a one-hour condensed version that offers an introduction and overview to providing competent and professional courtroom testimony. We will discuss and understand our role as a witness for both the prosecution of criminal cases and as defendants in civil cases.
Learning Objectives:
1. The student will learn the proper procedures, including attire, when appearing in court.
2. The student will be able to demonstrate generally the principles and techniques of providing effective presentation and testimony.
3. The student will discover effective use of reports, notes, and records of call when testifying.
