Nasal disease is a common problem in dogs and for each type of presentation there are multiple diseases to consider and in some of the more difficult cases it can be a combination of problems. This presentation will discuss hyperkeratotic, crusting, depigmenting and erosive or ulcerative nasal diseases and some of the combination treatments that may help these cases, especially problem cases. The role of solar dermatitis as an aggravating factor will be discussed.
Upon completion, participant will be able to list the differential diagnosis for noses with different types of lesions.
The attendee will be able to list different components of what may be affecting a nasal dermatitis case.
Upon completion, participant will be able to recognize when cases may have a solar component to the nasal disease.
The attendee will be able to describe what is needed for effective solar avoidance.
