This course is specifically designed for Veterinary Technicians who wish to increase and sharpen their ultrasound skills. Using live dogs, this lab illustrates the principles, techniques, and equipment choices for imaging normal abdominal structures, such as liver, gallbladder, spleen, kidneys, genital organs, and urinary bladder via ultrasonography. 4 CE Hours. Purchase required. Capacity: 24. Price: $375. Transportation: Complimentary shuttle service is provided to and from the Oquendo Center for all hands-on labs. The pickup area is located at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center entrance. Buses depart promptly 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the course. Dress Code: Please dress comfortably. Scrubs are recommended, additional scrubs are available for use at the Oquendo Center, if needed. Closed-toe shoes are required.

Learning Objectives:

Correctly use a transducer with correct orientation for an abdominal ultrasound
Identify the liver, spleen, left kidney, right kidney and urinary bladder
Evaluate the liver parenchyma for ultrasound abnormalities
Evaluate the splenic parenchyma for ultrasound abnormalities
Evaluate the kidneys and urinary bladder for ultrasound abnormalities
