The causes of liver disease in the cat and feline specific laboratory tests will be presented. Some unique aspects of lipidosis will be presented but the major emphasis of the lecture will cover inflammatory (cholangitis) and reactive hepatopathies using case examples demonstrating key diagnostic and therapeutic aspects
Upon completion, participant will understand liver-specific laboratory tests in cats and how a number are different from the tests in dogs.
Upon completion, participant will know the most common causes of liver disease in the cats.
Upon completion, participant will have a greater understanding of lipidosis in cats and that many are secondary to systemic disease.
Upon completion, participant will learn that the most common inflammatory liver disease in cats is cholangitis.
Upon completion, participant will understand the different types of cholangitis and how each condition are best managed.
