Surgical tips to make surgical extractions will be presented as well as step-by-step slides to show how to extract the maxillary canine tooth, maxillary fourth premolar, mandibular canine tooth and mandibular first molar. After the participants will practice extracting these teeth while working closely with board certified dentists. The participants will learn techniques they can take back to their practice to make extractions less traumatic to their patient. Capacity: 24. Price: $495.Transportation: Complimentary shuttle service is provided to and from the Oquendo Center for all hands-on labs. The pickup area is located at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center entrance. Buses depart promptly 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the course. Dress Code: Please dress comfortably. Scrubs are recommended, additional scrubs are available for use at the Oquendo Center, if needed. Closed-toe shoes are required.
The participants should leave with an improved skill set for surgical extractions in the dog
The participants will be guided by videos for the steps involved in creating a mucogingival flap, performing bone removal and sectioning multirooted teeth.
Understand instrument selection, usage and care including sharpening techniques
The participants will be assisted in removal of a fractured root when and if they occur
The participants will be shown how to approach an oronasal fistula for repair and how to approach a persistent deciduous tooth for extraction
