Data Policy Manager Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR Brazil)
The Brazilian General Law for the Protection of Personal Data (LGPD - Law No. 13,709 enacted August 14, 2018), recently came into force in Brazil. Additionally, the National Data Protection Authority (NDPA) was established to be the regulatory agency responsible for monitoring compliance with the LGPD. This law and is agency are of great importance to companies in the medical technology sector that deal with personal data and operate or wish to operate in the country.
This panel will explore the LGPD in depth as well as related initiatives including: Regulation of Software such as a Medical Devices by the Brazilian National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) and the Health Data Protection Project under development by the Brazilian Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR), linked to the World Economic Forum.
