Board Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association San Francisco, California, United States
This interactive session will briefly summarize research on the impact of SCA on survivors, families and rescuers. Participants will break into small groups to further discuss unmet psychosocial needs and future directions for research and advocacy.
Synopsis of Presentation: SCA survival used to be a rare event and still remains all too uncommon. With more survivors, there is more awareness of their needs after they leave the hospital and try to resume their lives. Post-cardiac arrest survival needs are the focus of the new Sixth Link in the Chain of Survival. With the addition of the new link, there is a movement to understand and address long-term survivorship unmet needs.
