Dr. Mohammed Muthalib is a Senior Consultant working with DNV’s Energy Advisory group in Chalfont, PA, USA. He has extensive experience in performance data analysis and data-driven modelling of physical systems connected to the electric grid. At DNV, he is a Team Lead for analytics and engineering services including solar + storage operational modeling, battery degradation and augmentation modeling, development of technical specifications, and performance analysis of utility scale battery energy storage and hybrid solar + storage projects. He also supports DNV’s broader advisory services for other distributed energy resources such as fuel cell generation systems. Dr. Muthalib earned his Ph.D. and B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA. His previous research focused on the development of a framework for utilizing buildings as thermostatically controllable energy resources for the electric grid; which included development of methodologies for load modelling from operational data, model-based analysis tools, and model integration into electric grid studies.
