Brad Dicianno, MD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is the Director the Adult Spina Bifida Clinic and Medical Director of the Center for Assistive Technology at UPMC. Clinically, he treats the assistive technology and rehabilitation needs of individuals with complex disabilities including spina bifida. He is the Chair of the Professional Advisory Council and Associate Medical Director of the Spina Bifida Association and a member of the Clinician Task Force.
Dr. Dicianno also holds a Masters Degree in Bioengineering and completed an NIH K12 Career Training Program through the Rehabilitation Medicine Scientist Training Program.His research interests focus on developing and studying interventions targeted to improving health and wellness in individuals with complex disabilities (assistive technology, mobile health, telemedicine, and preventative care programs). He is the Medical Director and COO of the Human Engineering Research Laboratories, which is a VA Center on Wheelchairs and Associated Rehabilitation Engineering.
