Andrew McCoy is a PGY-4 in the department of PM&R at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Andrew is a Pittsburgh native who grew up watching his younger brother Daniel, who was born with lumbar myelomeningocele, play sled hockey and win a gold medal in the 2014 Paralympics in Sochi, Russia. He earned his B.S. at Carnegie Mellon University in Biological Sciences and earned his M.D. at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his intern year at Elmhurst Hospital Center in Queens, NY. During his PM&R residency, he was awarded the PGY-2 Rising Star Award and served as the Education Chief Resident in 2020. His career interests include adaptive sports, pediatric rehabilitation, spasticity, and neurorehabilitation. After graduation, he will be pursuing fellowship training in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine at University of Colorado Children's Hospital. His hobbies include ice hockey, guitar, and all forms of fishing.
