The book describes the significant role that the Newfoundland soldiers played in the defence of Canada during the War of 1812. The Royal Newfoundland Regiment was on the front lines throughout the war, fought with honour and great courage, and experienced many casualties during military actions.

Gordon K. Jones lives in Toronto with his wife, Teena, and their two cats, Crumpet and Muffin. He is the author two books: Defending the Inland Shores (non-fiction) and "Saving Tiberius" (fiction). Gordon is a professional member of the Canadian Authors Association and the Crime Writers of Canada.
