Facilitated by members of the OLA Mentoring Committee: Graham Lavender Graham has worked as an academic librarian in the college, university, and "other post-secondary" sectors, and is currently Associate Librarian at the Michener Institute of Education at UHN in Toronto. He believes strongly in the power of mentorship and networking for job seeking and career development.
Yvonne Patch Yvonne Patch is a retired Manager at Hamilton Public Library. Yvonne’s roots are in England where she first experienced the lure of public libraries. Yvonne’s experience includes mentoring, training, instructing, project and policy development, community partnerships, programming, and staff engagement in a long public library service career.
Julie Hannaford Julie Hannaford is the Deputy Chief Librarian at the University of Toronto Libraries (UTL). Julie has leadership, management, policy, budget and planning responsibilities within UTL. A large part of her portfolio is dedicated to the recruitment and professional development of UTL staff and she has a keen interest in mentoring and coaching.
Beckie MacDonald Beckie has been an interviewer and interviewee more times than she can count! She brings a wealth of experience and advice from both sides of the table. She has predominantly worked in public libraries, however, has created great networking connections in all library types from across the country through committee work, conferences, and having worked full time in the OLA office for many years. Beckie is an active mentor, mentee, committee member and networker.
