This session explores interdisciplinary research that seeks to support researchers, research administrators, and librarians in developing metrics literacies—an integrated set of competencies and knowledge that empowers individuals to recognize, interpret, critically assess and effectively use scholarly metrics. The session highlights the misuses of the h-index and demonstrates examples of researcher personas, storytelling and the educational multimedia material that has been created to improve metrics literacies amongst researchers, academic librarians and research administrators. The session will present the stories of the interdisciplinary, international research personas that have been created by the research team. During this session, attendees will learn about bibliometrics, research policy, benefits of storytelling and multimedia material in education, and the current state of the team’s research project. Questions, comments, and suggestions will be greatly appreciated throughout the presentation and may help shape the future of this ongoing project.
