In this session, we will: Review the law on what is legal and illegal expression in Canada; Discuss how welcoming diversity and being inclusive necessarily means welcoming difference that is often challenging and sometimes causes offence; Explore what libraries can do to genuinely welcome diversity and manage the inevitable offence some will feel, while ensuring there is no place for hate or discrimination.
