Supporting Community Health and Well-being During Times of Crisis

Hamilton Public Library (HPL) partnered with City of Hamilton Public Health Services (PHS) and Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) to promote health information and supports to Hamilton residents during a highly stressful time. The campaign kicked-off Mental Health Awareness Week and included media relations, social media, internal communications, PSAs and advertising. Over the course of the pandemic, HPL continued to work with Public Health, Hamilton Health Sciences, Hamilton Paramedics to deliver mental, physical and emotional health and well-being programs and messaging to staff and library members, including serving as cooling/warming centres, promoting youth immunization updates and hosting flu clinics for staff and residents.
