Ensuring that the challenging cases of rare disease today become more easily treatable—or even preventable—conditions in the future is the ultimate goal of research in rare diseases. Dr. Schor, leader in the development and future implementation of the NINDS 2021-2026 Strategic Plan, will present their goals for the future. This session will explore the phenomenon that makes common diseases therapeutically rare, as well as look toward the key initiatives NINDS will focus on in the next 5 years.
