Emily M. Johnson-Barlow, MLIS, is an Associate Professor & Regional Health Sciences Librarian at the University of Illinois at Chicago Library of the Health Sciences - Peoria. In this position, she is a liaison to the Colleges of Medicine and Nursing, providing campus-wide instruction and supporting clinical research and outreach initiatives at the Peoria Regional Campus. She is also the course director for the Survey of Medical Informatics, a fourth-year medical student online elective.
Prior to UIC, Prof. Johnson-Barlow was a Health Sciences Librarian by Virginia Commonwealth University. She received her Master's in Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2010 and holds a B.S. in Information Resources from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. She is a member of MLA, Midwest Chapter of MLA, and the Health Science Librarians of Illinois.
Her research interests include curriculum-based library instruction, assessment of library services, and use of mobile device technologies in libraries.
