Alexander Paras, DO, MPH, is currently a second year Preventive Medicine Resident at Emory University School of Medicine. He is a graduate of San Diego State University in San Diego, CA; The Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA; and Western University of Health Sciences/College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) in Pomona, CA. Following completion of an traditional rotating internship at Chino Valley Medical Center (CA); he served as an active duty Flight Surgeon in the United States Air Force (USAF) from July 2013 to May 2020 in assignments both stateside and overseas with duties ranging from squadron medical element to medical subject matter expert during aircraft safety and accident investigation boards, and served as medical director of the Operational Medical Readiness Squadron at Kunsan AB, ROK. Now as a USAF Reservist Flight Surgeon, his focus and research interests are in quality/process improvement, and emergency and disaster preparedness.
