Rutgers Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science
Tobias Gerhard is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy and Epidemiology at Rutgers University and the Founding Director of the Rutgers Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science (PETS). He conducts research on use, safety, and outcomes of prescription drugs using large claims and EHR datasets, with a particular focus on the development, application, and evaluation of modern methods for causal inference. Tobias’ work has been funded by NIA, NIMH, PCORI, AHRQ, and several foundations. His research has been recognized with the Sternfels Prize for Drug Safety Discoveries, a Young Investigator Award from the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation and a New Investigator Award from the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology. Tobias serves on committees for FDA and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. He is a Fellow of ISPE, has been a member of the Society for more than 15 years, and serves as Program Committee Chair for the 2020 ICPE All Access meeting.
