During our initial training in doing Critical Incident Stress Management, we are told to “follow the model” while at the same time being innovative. An interesting conundrum when you are first starting out or even after you have some years under your belt. Dennis and Pete have about 60 years of experience between them, and hundreds of interventions. They will be sharing some of the more unusual situations they have handled and how they were innovative in using our various CISM structures to meet the situation.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to
Understand and adapt CISM principles to unusual situations.
Define some of the key strategies for being innovative.
Participants will feel confident in responding appropriately to unique situations.
