Presentation Details: I was a first responder for 30 years. I currently am an instructor at the Justice Institute of BC for the Fire Officer program and I instruct the CISM certificate program for the Crisis and Counselling division of the JIBC. I also work in crisis response/management for numerous corporate, provincial and federal agencies as a contractor. After my TED talk last year, I have been asked to give many keynote talks on leadership, mindfulness and mental health in the workplace. I struggled with the effects of a long trauma filled career and nearly lost my life in the process. I share my learned and experience knowledge with first responders in a way that they understand and can relate.
