Keywords: Corporate/Industry, Healthcare Settings, Pandemic Response, Self Care & Wellness, Team Development & Care Session Type: 90 Minute Concurrent Session
Presentation Details: Since 2018 a number of CISM trained personnel from the UK have come together as an alliance to share knowledge, skills and understanding of how CISM works. We hosted Prof Atle Dyregrov in 2019 for a masterclass and a conference introducing the idea of CISM later that year, where the keynote speaker was Col Ollie Barbour Rtd. In 2020 with a huge need across the world we have been hosting CISM leaders Blether (an old Scottish word that affectionately means talking too much) for leaders form a range of organisations to share knowledge, understanding, offer advice and just listen to each other. It quickly became a vital safe space for some and provided support, encouragement and practical advice in such difficult circumstances.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to
Recognise the challenges in providing for differing needs of peer supporters as leadership in a team.
Identify the advantages of cross profession support where a colleague with a fresh viewpoint but similar CISM ethos can offer a safe space for reflection, ventilation, reassurance, and guidance if requested.
Understand the benefits of sharing resources, understanding, the highs and lows of a CISM journey with like-minded and similarly educated others. It’s the value of finding your tribe.
