Katherine Koch, MEd, PhD, NRP, is an Associate Professor of Special Education and Associate Director of Teacher Education at St. Mary's College of Maryland where she teaches courses on special education, learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, and research design. She is the author of the recently published textbook titled EMS Response to Patients with Special Needs: Assessment, Treatment, and Transport. Dr. Koch is also a paramedic and captain with the St. Mary's County Advanced Life Support Unit in St. Mary's County, Maryland.
