Betty Yang, MD, is an EMS fellow at the University of Washington. She trained as an engineer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, attended the University of Texas at Houston Medical School, and completed emergency medicine residency at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where she became passionate about EMS. Dr. Yang hopes to optimize EMS systems, through education, practice guideline enhancement, and EMS research, with an emerging focus on out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and trauma resuscitation. As an EMS fellow, she works closely with Seattle Fire Medic One and King County EMS. She has been involved in airway training development and quality improvement at the BLS and ALS levels, as well as whole blood implementation in the prehospital setting.
