PhD Graduate Student
Indiana University School of Medicine
My name is Parth Amin, currently I am pursuing my Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in Dr. Ronald C. Wek laboratory at Indiana University (IU) School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN. Our lab extensively studies integrated stress response pathways. My research is focused on a protein called IBTKa which is induced in response to ER stress. One part of my project is focused on the translational regulation of IBTKa expression and the second part is focused on determining the function of IBTKa in stress. Before joining Ph.D. program at IU, I received a MS degree in Human Genetics from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine, Richmond, VA.
