University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
I am Manish Jain. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Pharmacology, School of Medicine, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC. My current research is focused on the discovery of novel ligands for G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs). In my previous Postdoctoral position at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, TX, my research was focused on the study of the G-proteins and β-arrestins mediated signaling pathways in GPCRs using their CRISPR-Cas9 genomic knockouts in HEK293 cells. I have obtained my Ph.D. in Protein Biophysics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. In my Ph.D., I studied human α-, β-, and γ-synuclein proteins which are involved in Parkinson’s disease and I characterized them in terms of their various biophysical attributes.
