Saturday, November 20, 2021
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM CDT
Location: Music City Center, Room 110
The past two years have offered us a lot to respond to, especially as landscape architects - the stewards of the public realm. From nationwide racial protests, a global pandemic, destructive fires and hurricanes, and political shifts and coups, green spaces are playing a significantly larger role in daily life, community health, and sense of belonging. In this BlackLAN annual panel, three landscape professionals will reflect in conversation on the theme, "What a time to be a Black landscape architect," - considering their own responses to the recent stimuli and the value their perspectives bring to the profession, to the practice, and to the people. The role of landscape architects is more necessary than ever - join us as we reflect on how we might engage and lead these important moments.
