For the law enforcement officer, training has been an essential part of your job throughout your career. In the academy, you learned about the law, criminal investigations, patrol procedures, firearms, traffic control, defensive driving, control tactics, first aid, computer skills, and much more. All of these are of the utmost importance for success in your career, however, there is one missing link – your personal wellness and mental health. During this session, we will look at what happens in your brain, during times of stress and trauma, and how impactful it is on you, your career, and your family.
Upon completion, participants will be able to recognize the need for proactive wellness to offset job and personal stressors.
Upon completion, participants will be able to compare non-stress brain reactions with brain reactions under stress.
Upon completion, participants will be able to create a proactive preparedness plan to mitigate stress reactions.
