Having been a youth who experienced severe abuse and neglect in his youth, the presenter has a unique insight into what that is really like. He uses his first-hand experience and expertise to motivate and inspire professionals who work with youth with adverse backgrounds. He believes that to help, care, or serve others, while they experience adversity, we first must shift the way we view adversity. In this presentation, the presenter will discuss the intersection of adversity and trauma, walk through his CARE model, all while sharing personal stories and experiences that helped shape him as he went through some of the most difficult times of his life. The purpose of this presentation is to explain how we can effectively serve youth who have experienced adversity with small, intentional but tangible steps. This workshop will only be recorded and available On-Demand from August 9, 2021 until December 17, 2021.
