If a child’s report of abuse goes unread, the consequences can be fatal. Each year, law enforcement and CPS receive thousands of these reports, but without a tightly bound safety net to coordinate cases, justice and services are too often denied. This presentation will introduce universal principles from the Toyota Production System that any children’s advocacy center (CAC) can apply to improve their case coordination services while examining the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center’s Toyota-guided transformation as a case study. Templates and a step-by-step guide will be offered that CAC leaders can use immediately. Participants will leave able to implement a more streamlined approach to case management by utilizing tools like protected time, which in turn, will translate to more manageable caseloads.
