Survivor Consultant National Center for Missing & Exploited Children
This workshop will feature presenters who are survivors of child sexual abuse imagery/videos who experienced the criminal justice process as adults. They will discuss the practical and tangible techniques used by law enforcement that helped them feel supported and led to positive outcomes. This panel discussion will be moderated by a representative of NCMEC and highlight the concepts of choice, consent, and control, the three themes central to the healing process for sexual abuse and exploitation survivors.
Upon completion, participant will be able to identify key interventions that make the victim and family feel supported during a CSAM law enforcement investigation.
Upon completion, participant will be able to describe opportunities to offer choice, consent, and control to a victim and family during any phase of a CSAM investigation.
Upon completion, participant will be able to examine practices within their agency that could be improved or strengthened to better support the victim and family during a CSAM case.
