The medical evaluation of child physical and sexual abuse has many potential pitfalls, the most commonly encountered being medical conditions disguised as the findings of abuse. This presentation will review some of the most common medical conditions which may mimic child physical and sexual abuse as well as how they may be differentiated from actual abuse.
