Bilingual Forensic Interviewer

Melissa Hernandez is currently a bilingual forensic interviewer at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center where she has worked for four years and has completed over 300 interviews of children ages 2-17. She is trained in CACTX protocols. As part of the Forensic Interview team, Melissa conducts developmentally appropriate interviews of children in cases where the child is alleged to have been the victim or witness to a severe crime. Melissa also supports partners with interpretation. Previously, Melissa was a bilingual family advocate where she Melissa provided support to families on the day of the forensic interview. Melissa also interned with the Department of Homeland Security. where she assisted with interpreting for special agents and assisted the Dallas Chief Counsel of U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement.
