Vernita Johnson is an MDT Coordinator for the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center. For almost 20 years, she has dedicated her career to being a voice for those who have experienced abuse and neglect. She began her career in the field of education and gradually progressed to become an Investigator with CPI before joining the multi-disciplinary team with DCAC in 2016, which has allowed her to build relationships and work collaboratively with partners to ensure no child falls through the cracks. Vernita’s “momma bear” mentality is known within her team and community and her caring and protective nature aligns with the core values of DCAC. She is a native of Mississippi. She completed her BS and MS in Criminal Justice at Mississippi Valley State University.
