Lee Reed retired from the Abilene, Texas, Police Department after 34 years of service. He has over 30 years investigative experience in missing and abducted children investigations. Lee was instrumental in developing profiles of runaway children and providing resources to locate them quickly. Lee has assisted in the writing of several NCMEC manuals, including the Investigator’s Guide and Infant Abductions. During his career, he was involved in numerous landfill searches and has developed an expertise which involves algorithms to help locate evidence or remains in a landfill. Lee, working closely with NCMEC, has an expertise in infant abductions and the proper response to and prevention of infant abductions. He was an active member of NecroSearch International and also a Texas Regional Coordinator for AMBER Alert.
