Cara Pierce served as Human Trafficking Coordinator for the Northern District of Texas before joining the Texas Attorney General’s Office as Chief over the Human Trafficking and Transnational Organized Crime section in 2020. She serves as the head of a statewide human trafficking unit who prosecute child and adult sex and labor trafficking cases across Texas. Cara chairs the Texas Human Trafficking Prevention Task Force and Texas Human Trafficking Prevention Coordinating Council, both which lead anti-trafficking efforts in Texas. She consults and testifies as a subject-matter expert at the request of the Texas Legislature on human trafficking. She partners with and trains prosecutors and law enforcement officers on complex human trafficking investigations Cara has prosecuted more than 80 child and adult sex trafficking cases.
